New Orleans has been very well this season, even when shorthanded. However, I believe Atlanta’s playing style will cause them problems tonight. The Hawks’ raw speed should cause problems to a team that has Valanciunas and Zion on their frontcourt, two legit big (and slow) guys. The Pelican’s last two wins happened against the Thunder and the Pistons with the key for that being Valanciunas’ domination against undersized opponents. Indiana is coming from a big win against Cleveland yesterday and today they will face a Charlotte team that even though they are a bad team, they play with a similar style to the one the Pacers use. This is something that should be dangerous for Indiana as the game will be fast paced, with a lot of drives to the basket, which requires a lot of effort from players. But while Charlotte is well rested, Indiana will be on a 3in4-b2b spot.
Charlotte is struggling to hit threes but they have been generating a lot of fast break points and points in the paint, two areas where Indiana tends to struggle on defense. Therefore, I expect a very close game and so, I will be taking the Hornets plus the points here.
