Denver had a very irregular regular season last year. They showed to be the best team in the West, as they had the best record in games against the Western Conference’s winning teams. After they beat Memphis in a game in early March, they mentally checked out for the rest of the season, and went 8-10 in the last 18 games. However, when the postseason came, the Nuggets due to an elite offense and an average defense managed to dominate and rightfully won the NBA championship.

2023/24 OUTLOOK:

Denver will keep the same starting lineup that they had already used last season: Murray, KCP, Porter Jr, Gordon and Jokic. With these five players on the court, they will dominate. Historically, Denver has had a lot of issues every time Jokic is not playing. I don’t think this will be any different this season.

Bruce Brown is gone and he was very important last season as he was the team’s backup Point Guard with the second unit, a role he fulfilled very well. Reggie Jackson is now the backup PG and he has been recently terrible. Denver will then certainly hope that Christian Braun manages to have a bigger impact in the team this season in order to replace Brown in the role he had in the team’s rotation.

It will be interesting to see what Denver’s mindset will be now that they are the defending champions. The Nuggets have been prone to have low effort games on defense over the last few years and this won’t probably be any different this season. They will beat the best teams but they will also lay some unexpected eggs throughout the year.
