MIN is coming from a home loss vs. OKC in which we had a play on the O227.5 that closed in the 230’s, and still, we didn’t have a real chance to win the play.
MIN missed a ton of shots at the rim rim (50% FG w/ 42% vol%) and they were very inefficient in transition – an area that they really need to excel to score points. OKC was fielding basically a G league team + Shai Gilgeous-Alexander but they moved the ball really well; they generated plenty of perimeter good looks and punished MIN bad perimeter defense w/ 21-37 3pts.
This is something that I expect DAL’s offense to do as well. DAL has finally found a great offensive tempo w/ 123.6 Off. Rtg in L5 games. Some of their last games went below the total mostly due to the slow paced nature of those games. Their games vs. DEN, LAC 2x & POR 2x were half court battles and still, DAL offense was amazing. Today’s contest is going to be played @ faster pace as MIN is a run and gun team and I expect the Mavericks to pick apart their bad overall defense while involved in a shootout.
