As expected, Philadelphia had problems to be efficient on offense against Milwaukee as they were playing without both Embiid and George. Maxey was forced to attempt 31 FGs without great efficiency. Toronto’s defense won’t be good this season, but as they will be playing without Quickley tonight, their PG position will be occupied by two defensive specialists: Davion Mitchell and the rookie Jamal Shead who has already proved to be a very good individual defender. So, Maxey won’t have an easy matchup tonight.
On the other side, without both Quickley and Barrett, Toronto’s offense will have a lot of problems in creating quality shots tonight. Turnovers are an issue for them and so, I expect Philadelphia’s defense to pack the paint like they did against Milwaukee. Fortunately for them, Toronto lacks the firepower Milwaukee had against them (16-37 3pts).
