Without Booker and Beal against the Lakers, the Suns adjusted their offense into a more half court slow pace unit, in order to try to get Durant as many looks as possible. KD was “good” with 14-28 FG, 10-13 FT for 39 points but overall Phoenix struggled to move the ball (20 turnovers) and shot only 9-31 3pts. They were capable of winning the boards battle again and I believe the Suns will try to repeat this formula tonight as both Booker and Beal will be out once again.
The Jazz may have some defensive problems at the perimeter, but their frontcourt is big as they play with Kessler, Collins and Markkanen together. So, it will be tough for Phoenix to dominate the boards. Durant is an elite player and he will score naturally, but Utah has length to bother him.
Phoenix’s defense has been very good as Frank Vogel is indeed a very good defensive coach and I expect them to be solid today against a Jazz team that, just like Phoenix, doesn’t have much handling quality on their roster. They scored 120 points last night against the Clippers but the LA team elected to play with a small ball lineup a big portion of the time and this won’t happen with the Suns.

The Knicks is one of the teams that will be playing their third game in 4 days, always travelling. For tonight, I expect that to be an issue against a physical New Orleans team. The Knicks enjoyed a good matchup yesterday against Atlanta, a team that wants to play fast and attempt a lot of 3pts shots. They just couldn’t stop Brunson and Randle almost had a triple double. The Hawks lacked the personnel to bother these two players, but the Pelicans have that. New Orleans outmuscled the Grizzlies in their first game and I expect the same to happen today with their rest advantage.
