Minnesota is coming from a very physical game last night at Golden State in a contest played at 10PM EST and now they will be playing the final game of their road trip, on a 3in4-b2b spot and at 9PM EST. This is a terribly flat spot for them. The Wolves are still struggling to be an efficient team on offense with low 3pts% numbers and a high TO/rate. They have been excellent on the defensive end, something that is connected to a big effort.

Even if their spot wasn’t bad, Phoenix’s offense (with Booker back) would always be a tough matchup for them. Minnesota’s strongest defensive link is on the interior with their opponents only averaging fewer than 40 points in the paint in the team’s last six games. However, this Suns team doesn’t need to score in the paint in order to be effective. Booker, Durant and Beal all like to operate in the mid range, so scoring in the paint isn’t a requirement for Phoenix’s offense to perform well.

The Suns’ offense is a tough matchup for Minnesota’s defense while their physical edge in tonight’s matchup should be too much for the Wolves to handle.
