We are ahead of a matchup where both teams should have a good edge on defense. Orlando relies on their forwards Wagner and Banchero and they are normally committed to attack the paint via drives to the basket. However, Brooklyn has Nic Claxton back (he returned on the team’s last game against Washington) and they also have a group of versatile forwards who should be able to do a good job on defense guarding Orlando’s best offensive players. Dorian Finney-Smith, Royce O’Neal, Cam Johnson and Mikal Bridges can all hang around with them.
On the other side, Brooklyn’s offense is really missing Cam Thomas as their main player on pick n rolls. Orlando’s perimeter defense has been very solid this season and even though they are missing Wendell Carter Jr down low, Brooklyn lacks a player on the frontcourt who should be able to explore that and inflict big damage on Orlando down low.
