The Jazz surprised the Clippers by starting 3 7-footers in Markkanen, Filipowski and Kessler. UTA crushed LAC by 21 points and this configuration really worked as the 3 players finished the game with great +/- numbers; they outrebounded the Clippers; scored 58 points in the paint and the 3 players combined for 14 assists!
I expect UTA to use the same lineup today as they will have a much favorable matchup against an undersized SAC team that has only one legit big on the court and a bunch of guards surrounding the center. Note that the center isn’t exactly a prime Rudy Gobert but rather Sabonis coming off an injury.
In their first game against PHX, the Kings were crushed on the boards w/ only 41.1% reb/rate and the Suns scored 64 points in the paint against them. This is an area where the Kings will struggle the entire season and the Jazz has the tools to punish them and be competitive in this contest.
