Houston has won their last 4 games with great defensive numbers and improved offensive numbers. However, I believe a rested Denver team will be too much for them. The Rockets’ last four opponents were Sacramento without Fox in 2 games, LA Lakers with Davis and New Orleans who is also shorthanded and without their main guards. So, they have favorable matchups on defense.
It won’t be the case today against a Denver team that will come to this game from 3 days off. Houston is #25 on FG% allowed at the rim and that’s bad news as they will face a Denver team that can explore their opponents’ weakest links through Jokic. On the other hand, Houston’s guards have been playing better lately and so the team should be able to score against Denver.
Normally Denver struggles when Jokic is resting on the bench, but Houston has one of the worst benches in the league so far. With the benches having a close battle, Denver is a better team and they should execute better down the stretch as well.
