I believe this game should have had a shorter spread. Note that Milwaukee played at home against Atlanta on their last game and with the Hawks playing the last game of their road trip and the Bucks were -6/6.5 points favorites. Now, on a neutral spot for both teams, Milwaukee is -5 against a Knicks team that is clearly better than the Hawks.
The Knicks’ style on offense is going to be a challenger for Milwaukee’s subpar defense. They don’t rely on shooting close to the basket, a strength of the Bucks’ defense, and their pick n roll game with Brunson is going to be the biggest edge of the game. The Bucks’ pick n roll defense has been subpar all season long and Murray & Young scored a combined of 62 points against them in the team’s last game in a very efficient performance.
These two teams have already faced each other earlier in the season with the Bucks winning at home by 5 points. However, note that RJ Barrett did not play in that game and that was during a time where Randle was really struggling and only had a 5-20 FG, 1-9 3pts, 5-9 FT stats line in that game.
